We were up fairly early this morning, early enough to get breakfast, well Adam and I did, Laura kept the sun beds for us. We had the usual healthy breakfast (not), and I took Laura a couple of croissants back for her.
It was another hot day, but it seemed to take a little longer for the sun to come over, or was that because we were out earlier? We rested and read – it’s been exactly what we all needed…
We had lunch in by the side of the hotel overlooking the sea, amazing views and a nice breeze too. We had a nice lunch and a bottle of red wine too, well, why not.
After lunch it was back to the beds for Laura and I, and Adam went back to the room. Unfortunately I started getting a headache again, so we went back too. We have the booking in the posh restaurant on site tonight, The Culinarium. During the stay we are invited, for one time only, to try the Culinarium, which is a table waited evening with an alternative menu. We’re all looking forward to it.
We had a nice sleep and rest and fortunately my headache went. We showered and put on our posh frocks. Our table was booked for 7pm, and we arrived just before and were shown to our seats.
The Culinarium

We ordered a bottle of red wine for the 3 of us, a Boyante Rioja, Gran Reserva 2014. A very nice bottle of wine, we had still AND sparkling water for the table too.
There was a really nice choice of food, this is what we had…
Laura:
Starters: Mango Salmorejo
Main: Chicken Breast with Sweet Mustard Sauce
Desert: Pannacota with Coconut Milk and Jam
Neil:
Starters Duck Brochette
Main: Veal Cheeks with Potato Anna
Desert: Apple Pie with Rhubarb
Adam:
Starters Duck Brochette
Main: Violet Potato Gnocchi in Madras Curry Sauce
Desert: Brownie with White Chocolate Sauce
It was all so delicious , we all enjoyed our choices very much. The atmosphere was relaxing and not rushed. It was a wonderful meal and of course… here’s the pictures of the food:
After our lovely meal, we had a drink on the terrace, I got “Wrist Checked” when I asked for Chivas Regal with ice (it’s for premium guests only, which is what we are), Adam had a brandy and Laura had JD and Diet Coke. Adam and Laura ended up swapping as he didn’t like the brandy, and the JD didn’t taste quite right.
The entertainment tonight was Animal Acrobatics, which we didn’t like the sound of, we don’t like animals being forced to do acrobatics (unless it’s Poppy performing her very limited repertoire of tricks). But as we were having our drink, the act walked by with their equipment, and on closer inspection, it’s a 4 piece acrobatics act – dressed as animals, and not using actual animals. Or as Adam called it “A Furry Show”. So we decided to watch the act. It was quite good, if a little bit repetitive and more dance than acrobats, but there is no doubt of there strength and flexibility, especially while wearing animal costumes… I took a couple of videos and some pictures too.
