Well its home time, we’ve had a really good holiday, and as always with good holidays, it was too short.
The lodge was lovely; thanks to the owners Chris & Amy (we only spoke to Chris and he gave us some useful tips for the fishing). I/Neil did find the bed uncomfortable, but I normally do. The dog enjoyed the 3 or 4 walks a day and Adam loved the golf and the fishing too. It was a very relaxing place and we would definitely go again.
Yes, I/Neil could be overly critical about the size of the kitchen, the steep slopes of the roof that made a shower pretty impossible for me, although I tried once, just the once, but you know what, it added to the charm of the place and wasn’t a problem at all. The location, the peacefulness and the relaxing atmosphere meant that any “niggles” just were not important.
Our journey home started off eventful with one of the straps of the cycle carrier coming of, but a quick stop, a bump down a large pot hole later, we were away. Only a stop a Clackett Lane services for a “comfort” break and we were home in about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Now to unpack and get the washing done ready for work / school on Monday. (Oh and I/Neil remembered I’m on call from tonight…)
Thanks to Laura, Adam, Carol and Alan for a great holiday.
