What a wet day… RAIN!!!! and then some…
We went into Dover today to have a look round the town, it matched the weather – miserable, it was dingy, run down altogether not very nice. They did have one of the big Olympic screens though.
There was a nice church building, St Marys, in the middle of the town though, that was open. So we went in and took a few pictures (for a donation of course).
We had a traditional English lunch – McDonalds, and headed up towards the White Cliffs which Adam really wanted to see.
It’s a National Trust place and Carol & Alan are still members, so we got in for free. We paused to look over the ferry terminal then headed up to the visitor centre hoping that the rain would stop or at least look as though it may stop… it didn’t. We bought the usual souvenir’s, novelties and party tricks and decided that we’ll try again tomorrow.
Adam’s now swimming again whilst Laura and I have a beer in the bar and C&A have a rest in the lodge.
Tomorrow’s our last day, so we’ll try the White Cliffs again, probably do more swimming and start the packing … boo!!!!
