It’s music shop day – Yay!!
We went off to Deal (or No Deal – I think I’ve done that joke) today and had a little look around the town and especially the music shop. It wasn’t a bad shop, they had PA stuff, DJ, lighting, drums, keyboards, amps and some guitars, not masses of guitar but a few. They did sell “bits” and the only think I bought was a drinks holder that fits onto a mic stand. Adam bought a couple of sticks and a drum key.
We walked around the rest of the town and managed to get Adam some new school shoes (just cheap ones as they only need to last 6 weeks) but size 10!!! I know… I hope he doesn’t have bigger feet than me.
We found a PoundLand and they had a few bits and pieces. We were also on the look out for a mirror for Alan’s car.
I’d spotted a motor cycle shop just off the high street and suggested that may have something, so Alan had a look while we were in the music shop. We joined him in there, and the fella behind the counter was incredibly helpful. Alan described the problem and the guy had some replacement mirror glass for motor bikes for about £13. We then said that it was only temporary and working out how we would mount it and the guy suggested and got an old mirror off of a motor bike. He cut the bracket bit off and said we could use that. So with the old motor bike mirror, and 3 large cable ties… £1.30 later Alan was very pleased… We’d see how pleased later in the day.
We walked back to the car, picked up the bits for a spag bowl tonight from Sainsbury’s and Laura wanted to pop into the little traditional sweetie shop, but again it was closed for lunch… we really must try and get there when it’s not lunch time…
We came back had some lunch of our own and Adam and I went off to play some tennis. Laura later joined to take some photos and had a little game herself.
Afterwards Alan and I went to try and fit the motor bike mirror, the plan being to cut a couple of slots in the plastic in the back, feed the cable ties though and though the mirror housing on the car and, well, see. And you know what, that’s exactly what we did, no problems, no issues feeding the cable ties, no worries at all… And that was a blessing if ever there was one.
Adam and I went swimming later on and then I cooked the Spag Bowl.. very nice it was too…
