We had a lazy day today, keeping out of the sun to try and recover from the sun burn. There is a sun care rep that comes around every day (except Thursdays) and sells sun care products that are especially designed for the Lanzrote (and Canarian) climate. We bought some recovery gel which is Aloe and Tea Tree oil, plus some After Sun which is also natural Aloe and Rose Hip Oil which is supposed to calm the redness down and bring on a nice tan. We also bought some factor 25 which is there equivalent of a total sun block. Not cheap stuff, but if it works then it’s worth it – The Soltan stuff from Boots certainly didn’t work.

We’d found some odd looking birds in the palm trees just outside the window, they were nesting in there too. It turns out that they are Spanish Sparrows. Still pretty little birds. Still no parrots though.
The entertainment tonight was a guy called Webby, he does a quick-fire quiz with shots as prizes, a “pub quiz” and “Live” pig racing – I was disappointed, the racing was live, the pigs were not 
. Dad won a few shots on the quick fire quiz and we did ok on the pub quiz. I won a bottle of wine in the raffle too. Then it was time for the live pig racing. Round 1, none of us had a go (it was drawn with raffle tickets). Round 2 and Dad was selected to race. His pig was called “A Wee Bacon Butty” and it came in 2nd yay!!!

Mum and Dad have not been sleeping too well on the bed upstairs, so they went to see Marcus, the site manager, and he arranged for a new sofa bed to be delivered the next day. We insisted that they sleep in the real bed tonight and we can swap rooms if we need too.
