Well the music lasted until 5am and gave Adam and I a disturbed night, unusually Laura actually slept and didn’t hear anything. Actually neither did Mum and Dad.
Adam’s cough still isn’t great, so we went off to the pharmacy to get some cough medicine and a browse around some gift shops.
After breakfast we had our meeting with our holiday rep Sarah who told us about some excursions to see the sights, most of which we’ve done on previous visits to Cyprus, there were however a couple that caught our eye:
A day trip to Famagusta so see the “Ghost” town, visit the beaches and some camels.
And
The Black Pearl – a pirate ship cruise which includes several swimming points. One thing I would love to do is jump off a ship in the middle of the mediterranean sea and swim. Odd I know, but that’s me…
So we’ll have to see about those…
We asked Sarah about the music and it was the club next to the hotel called SofaSofa, but it only happens at weekends.
The hotel is very nice and the staff seem very friendly. Here’s a couple of pictures of the hotel and pool.
Anyway, whilst we were out browsing the gift shops, there was the fresh feet fish plaice
where you stick your feet in a bucket of water and have the hard bits of skin on your feet nibbled off, so Laura and mum had a go… It was funny.
But somehow, Adam, Dad and I have agreed to have a go later in the week… Hmmm….
We popped back to the hotel for a drink, what’s the point of having an All Inclusive wrist and buying a drink from the bar across the road?
And then went to find some water and diet coke to keep in the fridge to drink at night (I know, but the water is nicer out of the bottle, which you have to buy anyway).
Lunch was good, a nice selection of hot and cold food and a great dessert trolley too.
Then back to the room for Adam to catch up on some sleep.
We had a nice rest and Adam was feeling better, so we went down to the pool so that he could do a little swimming and Dad joined him.
We bought him a torpedo toy for the pool which are always good fun. Whilst he was in the pool he was introduced to Cain by the boys mother as someone he could play with so he did and then met another boy called Cameron. They played until they were told to leave the pool as it was closed for the night.
We had another nice meal in the restaurant followed by a stroll down to the beach and a walk along the boulevard.
We found another shop and got a few snacks for the room. As we were walking back we were confronted by a small wild kitten, who, if it had been a cartoon, would be scruffy and wearing an eye patch, but actually had a dodgy eye. Laura felt sorry for it immediately as it followed us back a way, but fortunately it stopped following us as it it had come to the end of it’s patch and another cat was taking over.
We walked back to the hotel and enjoyed a couple of drinks and some entertainment followed by a quiz. We did reasonably well and scored 23 out of 30 with the two winning tables scoring 27…. It was down to a tie break and the winner won a bottle of red wine. Just one though, and they had the use of their wrist (a pointless prize, but fun quiz)!
Right off to bed now, got to get up and have my feet chewed off by fish tomorrow.
