This post will be more of a photo gallery post of what we saw at Chester Zoo. However, I will say that it was amazing. The amount of space that each animal has, and the way they seemed to be cared for is heartening. We had great weather for it, a definite answer to prayer that was – it didn’t rain and it wasn’t too hot either. I am so glad I booked a mobility scooter for Laura as the place is HUGE!!! although it did mean that Laura couldn’t go in a couple of exhibits such as the Red Ape Experience, the butterfly sanctuary or the tropical place. Adam and I ended up walking around 6 miles.
My favourite animal to see was the Orangutang, Laura’s favourite were the Penguins, and Adam’s was the Snow Leopard.
I would throughly recommend visiting the zoo, and if you are willing, I would recommend hiring a mobility scooter too, there is just so much to see. We got there at 10am when it opened, and got to the gift shop at 4.30pm. We had a lunch break at the Bembe Coffee Shop and the rest of the time we were wandering round the zoo.
There were some no-shows like the Tigers, Jaguars, we only saw the back of a red panda, we didn’t see any of the dogs, and we only saw one Rhino at the end of the day. We didn’t rush, but felt like we needed to speed up a little towards the end of the day. Definitely a place to re-visit. You could do it in a weekend if you fancied the long drive, but I also think it would be jam packed at the weekends.
We had a brilliant day, we were super excited to be there… I had a big grin on my face… loved it.
Here are just a few photo’s that I took. We must have take about 1500 between us.

So pleased you booked a mobility scooter for Laura, especially as you walked about 6 miles!!! Would have been difficult for her to enjoy not only the zoo but also the rest of the holiday. From the smiles on all your faces, a wonderful time was had by all.
