Today was a pool day, we managed to get 5 sun loungers by the pool, smothered ourselves in sun lotion and relaxed. Adam and I went in the pool which was FREEEEEZING!!!!! a real shock; I was expecting a warm swimming pool, heated by the sun, but I think they must have just refilled it from the Arctic ocean – oh it was salty too which seemed strange.
Adam spent most of his time in the pool, Laura and I had a go in the Jacuzzi, as did Mum and Dad. We relaxed, read our books and took it easy.
There are lots of birds around especially collar doves and parrots, yes parrots. Green ones… Laura is now on a mission to photograph some, one, ANY!!!!
What we hadn’t realised, unfortunately, is just how HOT it is in Lanzarote, being very close to the equator, with the coast of Africa just 60miles away, we got a little caught out… Now we put LOADS of sun lotion on, Mum and Dad put this P20 sun lotion on, and we had Soltan SPF 50 on, applied liberally, but we got caught out. We’ve all burnt in places, some worse than others; even Dad got burnt and that rarely happens.
I have to say, we were careful, re applied frequently, but the sun was SO hot. We came out of the sun and applied liberal amounts of after sun. Later in the evening, disappointed by the lack of protection afforded by Soltan SPF 50, we went to the shop down the road and bought something different as well as some Aloe Vera after sun.
Here’s a few more pictures of the site taken today.
