Today is Remembrance Sunday and we’re off to Adam’s church, One Church, in Emsworth. Knowing we were around an hour away, Adam wanted us to go to his church for one of the morning services and the 6pm service, and we were more than happy to go.
We arrived at around 11am, in time for the 11.30am service and happened to meet with Keith & Helen, they were coming out of the 9.30am service. We had coffee together and they were invited to lunch on Thursday. We also saw Suzanne, and Carys.
Great service. Worship was excellent and the word was from Rachel Mawston from Soul Church in Norwich. She spoke on “Have you got your keys” and like all good talks at church, there were 3 main points.
- We have already been given the keys to the Kingdom (With authority comes responsibility. We need to use the keys. Keys work regardless of the holder – You hot the Kings keys, and have authority to use them)
- The keys are for locking AND unlocking (Gods keys fit all the doors and the strategy for our lives)
- God holds the master key.
Rachel made an interesting example in that, Keys work regardless of the holder – If I give someone my car keys and house keys, they can use them, they have the authority from the giver to use them. We have been given the keys by God.
Interestingly, Adam was going to leave his keys at the lodge, but we said to take them in case you need them.
Also, we spoke about the power and authority in the name of Jesus in the car on the way to the church, and that was mentioned during the meeting.
Next, they mentioned the Cypress tree is a symbol of healing – when we dropped the dog off on Friday, they had Cypress trees at Barehams and we commented that they were nice trees.
There was a call for healing, and to go to the front to receive it. Laura went up and was prayed for, which was amazing.
After the meeting we went to Whitley for lunch. We went to the restaurant Wildwood and had a very nice meal. We then went into Boots to pick up some missed essentials.
Back to One Church for the 6pm service but we were so early, and decided to go past Adam’s work and stop at the top of the hill to watch the sun set over Portsmouth, but it was cloudy and we just watched it getting dark. Still it was a nice view.

Great worship at the church again and another inspiring word from Rachel Mawston, this time on “The risk ASK”, speaking out of Judges 1:13-15 – A = Acknowledge the need, in you, and the way it will impact others. S = See the potential. K = Know who you are and who’s you are.
We popped back in to Adam’s for a bathroom break and for Adam to pick up his book for Life Group.
What a great day…
