Today was Jurassic Hunting (say it carefully) well fossil hunting on the Jurassic beach in Lyme Regis. Yet again the weather was less than desirable, with mist rolling over the hills, a persistent drizzle with a brisk wind too. Still it didn’t stop us from scouring the beach in the vague hope of finding something older than the father-in-law (not telling you who’s writing today up so make up your own mind who I’m talking about). There’s a who raft of photos, so I’ll just add a few selected ones.
We had lunch from Herbies Dino Bar with a promise of fresh locally caught fish in their famous beer batter…
Today’s fish was Haddock caught in Brixham (well I’d imagine the fish was caught at see and brought back to Brixham to be sold). Neil had the fish and chips (no bones in Haddock), Laura had cheesy chips and onion rings and Adam had Fish a cheesy chips. We eat it back at the car, and it was lovely… You could certainly taste the freshness in the fish.
We then thought we would try and have a walk around the town, but the parking situation is/was ridiculous, we tried a couple of car parks, one was crazy tight with no disabled spots and completely full. The other we found was up the top of a very steep hill and would be no good for anyone. So we gave up on that idea and came back to the cottage. (The pork for tonight’s dinner had to go in the oven anyway).
